About Filmadex

Helping filmmakers move ideas toward production without losing what makes them original.

Filmadex was created around a simple idea: technology should make film development more connected and capable without replacing the creativity, judgment and collaboration that make filmmaking human.

How Filmadex Works

Why Filmadex

Development happens across too many disconnected tools.

Film projects are often developed across disconnected scripts, documents, spreadsheets, visual tools, budgeting systems, messaging platforms and presentation materials. Filmadex brings those workflows together so information and creative decisions can carry forward throughout the Path to Production.

What Filmadex brings together

One connected workspace for the full filmmaking journey.

  • Script ingestion, analysis and coverage
  • Treatments, beat sheets and scene development
  • Visual development
  • Lookbooks and storyboards
  • Production packaging
  • Budgeting and production planning
  • Team collaboration
  • Network, profiles and cast and crew invitations
  • Public and private Showcases
  • Participation and funding-readiness workflows
  • Materials for presenting projects to talent, partners, financiers and audiences

Authenticity and creativity

Technology should support the filmmaker’s vision, not become the vision.

Filmadex is built to help filmmakers understand, visualize, organize, plan and communicate their own work while keeping creative authorship and judgment with the filmmaker.

Responsible technology

As emerging technology becomes part of film development, Filmadex is being built around creator control, rights awareness, consent and legitimate use.

Founder

Lana Newishy

Founder & CEO, Filmadex

Filmadex grew out of Lana Newishy's own experience trying to move a screenplay toward production. After years developing the project and ultimately forming Shescapes Productions to move it forward independently, she began building technology and automations to manage the fragmented work involved in development and packaging. When other writers and filmmakers began asking how she was doing it, the idea evolved into Filmadex: a guided platform designed to make those capabilities accessible without requiring filmmakers to become technologists themselves.

Lana brings a career spanning strategy, operations, finance, business transformation, M&A, and technology-enabled process design across both global companies and entrepreneurial ventures. Her experience includes global strategy and transformation work at The Estée Lauder Companies, senior operating and finance leadership, and building AI-enabled workflow products. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. She brings that systems and operating perspective to Filmadex with a clear principle: technology should remove friction around filmmaking while preserving the authenticity, judgment, and human creativity at its center.
